Will Scrubs reboot get renewed after strong premiere ratings?

Viewers are clearly tuning in for the return of Scrubs, as the reboot drew an impressive 11.36M total cross-platform across ABC, Hulu, Disney+ and digital platforms in its first five days, as per Disney.

Speaking of the revival’s performance, Bill Lawrence, the creator of the series, shared, "I’m so happy and grateful that anybody still cares about that show."

17 years after its last run, Scrubs made a big comeback. The revival, which stars the original leads; Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke, scored the highest-rated comedy episode on ABC and the network’s top streaming series debut in over a year, since Shifting Gears premiered.

“I love the people that are in it so much, not only the old ones because I’ve talked way too much about Zach,” the 57-year-old screenwriter and director said, noting that Zach has worked across many of his shows, including directing an episode of his latest show Rooster.

His newest HBO comedy series Rooster includes a star-studded cast of Steve Carell, Charly Clive, Phil Dunster, Danielle Deadwyler and Scrubs alum John C. McGinley.

“And Donald and Sarah, I’ve been working with them a long time,” he added.

In regards of the reboot getting another season, Bill remained hopeful, saying, "We’re all crossing our fingers that they let us do a whole bunch more, but we’re really hopeful."
