Rob Reiner would have turned 79
Cary Elwes honored late filmmaker Rob Reiner with a heartfelt tribute on what would have been his 79th birthday.
The American filmmaker was brutally murdered along with his wife in December 2025 in his California home.
One of Rob’s biggest projects was The Princess Bride starring Cary alongside Robin Wright.
To mark his birthday, Cary shared a post on Instagram on March 6 celebrating the lae director’s life.
He wrote “Today would have been your 79th birthday. Still hard to believe you’re gone. Missing you so much.”
Cary shared the wish alongside pictures with Rob at the 25th anniversary screening and cast reunion of The Princess Bride during the 50th New York Film Festival.
Rob and his wife were found dead at their Brentwod home after attending Conan O'Brien’s holiday party, where their youngest son Nick Reiner accompanied them and reportedly had an argument with the couple.
The director’s son Nick is currently facing charges of murdering his parents and remains under arrest.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
