Christian Bale does have an Academy Award for his veteran acting; however, he admits he is not into watching movies.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of The Bride! on Tuesday, March 3, the 52-year-old actor, who plays Frankenstein’s monster in the film, got into the conversation at The Rose Theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

While speaking to the crowd, he revealed that he has yet to watch Jacob Elordi’s portrayal of the same character in Guillermo del Toro’s 2025 adaptation of Frankenstein.

"I hear it's fantastic," Bale said, "I just don't watch that many movies."

The Oscar-winning actor, who has also won SAG Awards and Golden Globe Awards, not only missed Elordi's Frankenstein, but he also hasn’t viewed his co-star Jessie Buckley's performance in Hamnet

"I just know Jessie as The Bride," he said about Buckley’s performance, which has been racking up major wins this awards season ahead of her Best Actress nomination at the 98th Academy Awards.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Buckley shared that her favorite role of Bale’s is of The Fighter, as she called it “extraordinary.”

“The Machinist, I mean, I don't think anybody has created a character like that, that he has," she added about Bale, as she spoke to the outlet at the Manhattan premiere.

The Bride!, released on March 6, is now playing in theaters.
