Jennifer Lopez shared that she was “about to give up on it all” after her 3rd divorce from Marc Anthony in 2014.

On Friday, March 6, while speaking to the crowd at her Up All Night Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the singer reflected on the time after her third husband.

Lopez confessed that it was “actually a really tough time” after splitting from Anthony, whom she married in 2004.

“I was really about to give up on it all,” Lopez shared onstage, adding of her18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, shared with Anthony, she said, “I mean, I was a single mom with two 3-year-old twins.”

However, during that difficult time, the multi-hyphenate star got genuine advice from one of her mentors, the late author Louise Hay.

“She said to me, ‘Jennifer, you’re a dancer, right?’ ” Lopez recalled the advice ha she sill carry with her to this day. “I said, ‘Yes, I am.’ And she said, ‘When you’re learning a dance and you get the steps wrong, what do you do?’ I said, ‘I just keep going until I get the steps right.’ And she said, ‘That’s right Jennifer. Always keep dancing.’ ”

Lopez added that she wished the same for everyone, saying she hoped that no matter what life throws at them, they continue to dance again and again.
