'Abbott Elementary' gets major update

Fans can be excited to learn that ABC has confirmed Abbott Elementary for a sixth season.

This announcement came on the same day the mockumentary sitcom returned with its remaining episodes on March 4. It began airing back on October 1, 2025.

The fan favourite series has earned 30 Emmy nominations, and won a total of four awards.

Quinta Brunson not only is the part of the cast but also serves as the series creator.

Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph are all part of the cast.

The 36-year-old actress and comedian, who takes on the role the quirky Janine Teagues on the fan favourite sitcom also takes on the role of an executive producer the show alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein.

The series first debuted five years ago on December 7, 2021 and is currently releasing weekly episodes for its fifth season.
