Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan may soon return home after weeks of treatment, bringing relief to family members and people in the film industry.

The 90-year-old writer was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on 17 February 2026. Since then, several friends, actors and family members have been visiting him regularly.

According to online reports, he is now feeling better and could be discharged in the next three to four days if his recovery continues in the same way.

Reports say he had suffered a brain clot which has now been treated. Doctors reportedly carried out a small medical procedure, which was successful.

Veteran lyricist and long-time collaborator Javed Akhtar recently said that Salim is doing fine. Actor Daisy Shah also shared that the writer had undergone surgery and is recovering well, although she was unable to meet him personally.

The ace writer is currently under the care of Dr. Jalil Parkar, who said Khan had suffered a minor haemorrhage. He noted that while the procedure went well, recovery may take longer because of Khan’s age.

Family members have been visiting him often. His son, actor Salman Khan, has been seen at the hospital several times. Sohail Khan, Seema Sajdeh, their son Nirvaan Khan, along with Salma Khan and Helen, also came to check on him.

Salim Khan first appeared in small acting roles before becoming one of Bollywood’s most famous writers. Alongside Javed Akhtar, he wrote films like Zanjeer, Deewar and Don starring Amitabh Bachchan.
