Varun Dhawan’s 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' release delays
David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan’s film pushed to avoid crowded box office after Yash’s 'Toxic' chose June window
Bollywood’s upcoming romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has quietly moved its release date again.
The film, starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, will now arrive in cinemas on 12 June 2026, instead of its earlier date of 5 June.
The one-week delay comes as several big films are shifting their release plans.
Yash’s action film Toxic is now expected to release on 4 June, after being pushed from March. The reshuffle has created a busy early-June box office window.
The team behind Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai says the change was made to avoid unnecessary clashes and to support other filmmakers.
Production house Tips Films shared a statement online explaining the move.
“We would like to clarify that our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.
We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date.
In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later.”
Directed by David Dhawan and produced by Ramesh Taurani, the film marks another collaboration between the Dhawan father and son.
The pair have earlier worked together on Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No.1.
The film is described as a love triangle comedy about a man who has been rejected by many women but comes up with a plan to change his luck in love.
