Sombr fumes at O2 Brixton Academy after fan faints during London show
The ‘Homewrecker’ singer furious with Brixton Academy after concertgoer collapses at concert
Sombr, whose real name is Shane Michael Boose, called out venue authorities after they allegedly failed to properly manage the crowd during his recent concert in London.
The 20-year-old singer, who was performing the final night of his three-show run at O2 Academy Brixton on Monday, March 9, paused his performance when an attendee fainted during the show.
Sombr, who appeared visibly concerned for fans’ safety, criticised the venue for what he described as poor crowd management.
"This is the most poorly managed venue I've ever performed at in my life," he said in a viral video posted online.
Referring to the security guards, the back to friends hitmaker added, "You guys need to pay attention - it's insane. Safety comes first."
Brixton Academy’s previous shortcomings
The venue has previously faced criticism over safety issues. Its licence was suspended in 2022 after two people were killed and another suffered life-altering injuries during a crowd crush at a concert by Afropop singer Asake, according to BBC.
The location later reopened in April 2024 after implementing extensive new conditions aimed at improving public safety.
Sombr’s ongoing tour
Sombr is currently on his Late Nights & Young Romance Tour, which includes dates across Europe and the UK, along with festival appearances such as Coachella in April 2026 and BottleRock Napa Valley in May, followed by several European festivals through August and September.
The tour originally kicked off on May 25, 2025, in Dublin. After a major 2025 run that concluded in Australia, the tour continues across Europe in early 2026, including stops in London.
