The teaser for Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Bhooth Bangla  starring Akshay Kumar was released on Thursday, giving fans a glimpse of the film’s mix of horror and comedy.

The 1-minute -23-second teaser shows Akshay’s character dealing with a haunted palace while delivering his signature comic timing, which many viewers said reminded them of the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

The story in the teaser began with the legend of Vadhusur from Mangalpur, a ghost said to bring danger to anyone who marries there. Akshay inherited a large palace in the taunter, which appeared nearly like a miniature Buckingham Palace. Despite his initial skepticism about ghosts, the teaser suggested that Akshay’s character would soon confront them.

The taunter also introduced other characters played by Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajesh Sharma, and the late Asrani.Fans quickly shared their excitement on social media.

One YouTube user wrote, “Bhooth Bangla Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” while an Instagram comment highlighted, “Akshay Kumar's comic timing .” Others praised the reunion of Priyadarshan and Akshay, calling it “a guaranteed entertainer” and predicting box office success with comments like, “Records todega” and “Blockbuster loading.”

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have worked together in several hit comedies including Hera Pheri( 2000), Garam Masala( 2005), Bhagam Bhag( 2006), De Dana Dan( 2009), and Khatta Meetha( 2010). Bhooth Bangla marked another collaboration between the two, with the film scheduled for a theatrical release on April 10.

The story was written by Aakash Kaushik, while Priyadarshan, Rohan Shankar, and Abilash Nair worked on the screenplay. Rohan Shankar wrote the dialogues, and Pritam composed the music.

In addition, Priyadarshan was directing another thriller titled Haiwaan, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.

It is a remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, which featured Mohanlal and Samuthirakani. Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar also appeared in the film, which finished shooting in December 2025.
