When audiences are eagerly waiting for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the makers have taken a rare and somewhat unusual strategic step by bringing back the first part to big screens just a week ahead of the sequel hitting theatres.

And this is not a small or limited rerelease. It is happening across nearly 500 screens worldwide, around 250 screens in India starting March 12 and another 250 overseas beginning March 13.

This surprising move from the team will give fans a chance to enjoy the high-octane spy saga once again before they dive into the waves of its sequel.

Ranveer Singh shared the update with the caption, "TOOFAN KE PEHLE .....AANDHI AAYEGI"

He added, "Before The Revenge.... Experience the Epic Saga once again on the big screen!"

In recent years, rereleasing films is no longer uncommon, but it mostly happens within India.

Hindi films rarely get international rereleases, which makes this a notable step for the action thriller. It also reflects the strong hype and global interest around the franchise.

The scale of this excitement can be judged from the number of screens.

A film that is barely four months old is returning to North American cinemas on nearly 185 screens, something that does not happen very often.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge will also host special Wednesday premiere shows across the USA and Canada on March 18, a day before its worldwide release.

Bankrolled by Jio Studios, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a high-octane spy action thriller written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also serving as producers.

Unlike the first part, the sequel will release worldwide in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The release date, March 19, has been chosen keeping in mind the festivals of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi.

The makers have also noted that the date arrives just ahead of Eid, which could help bring in larger crowds to theatres.
