The director Prakash Jha has confirmed that he is busy with the sequel of the 2010 thriller movie Raajneeti currently.

Jha confirmed in a recent interview that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's movie sequel has entered its pre production phase. "I am currently doing active work on the project," he told SCREEN.

When asked about Ranbir comment that he was underwhelmed with his performance in Raajneeti the filmmaker responded by saying, “A good actor will always review their work that way. That’s his intelligence his interpretation and I appreciate it. At that moment he gave his best. Of course as an actor or as a director or writer when you revisit your work you often feel you could have done better. Context changes over time. But he did a very good job and of course there’s always room to do even better."

“Raajneeti (politics) ki yatra toh anvarat (constant) hai, chalti hi rehti hai! There’s always been a plan for Raajneeti 2. While there is nothing concrete in terms of casting and shooting yet, I am currently working on it," the filmmaker told.

The 2010 political drama presents a modern adaptation of the Mahabharata which features Ranbir in the role of Arjun and Ajay Devgn as the troubled Karna and Nana Patekar as the knowledgeable Krishna.

However, Katrina Kaif as Draupadi who suffered injustice and Arjun Rampal as the compassionate Bhima and Manoj Bajpayee as Duryodhana who showed no mercy and Sarah Thompson as Subhadra and Naseeruddin Shah as the God who faced inner struggle.
