Blake Lively moves to keep harassment case against Justin Baldoni alive
Lively files a motion to prevent dismissal, ensuring her claims will be fully considered
Blake Lively is taking one last swing at Justin Baldoni as their high-profile legal battle over It Ends With Us approaches trial.
The 38-year-old Gossip Girl star filed a new motion in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday March 12.
The actress is asking Judge Lewis J. Liman to reject Baldoni’s latest attempt to dismiss her harassment claims in her latest motion.
Lively’s attorneys argued that dismissing the case now “would hardly serve the efficient or just resolution of disputes” pointing out that ample evidence supporting her allegations has already been collected.
This move counters Baldoni who has sought dismissal through appeals and a summary judgment aiming to end the case before it reaches trial.
Lively’s team has strongly opposed these attempts maintaining that the evidence warrants a full courtroom examination.
The trial is set to begin on May 18, 2026 and it will be a pivotal moment in the ongoing dispute.
Lively initially filed the harassment lawsuit in 2024 while Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit was ultimately dismissed by the court leaving Lively’s claims as the central focus.
Fans and industry insiders are closely watching the case which highlights the complex dynamics between actors and producers on high-profile film projects.
