Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced major changes for the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The upcoming season of the league, PSL XI, will mark the eleventh edition since it was inaugurated in 2016.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the tournament will be played behind closed doors as part of government austerity measures during ongoing regional tensions.

During the press conference held in Lahore, Naqvi announced that it will be limited to two venues, Karachi and Lahore.

The decision has been made to cut costs and limit public movement.

He said “Fans will be able to receive refunds for tickets, and we apologise to them for the inconvenience.”

The opening ceremony has also been cancelled, with matches set to proceed without spectators until the situation stabilises.

The model will be followed , as Pakistan navigates economic strain linked to the wider US–Israel–Iran tensions.

The tournament is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3. Previously, matches were planned to be held in multiple cities but it has been changed.

The opening match will be played between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
