Indian filmmaker Priyadarshan and his former wife Lissy Lakshmi reunited ten years after their divorce and have started living together again, sources confirmed on March 23, 2026.

The couple, who officially divorced in September 2016, chose to return to shared life without remarrying. In an interview with Mid-day, Priyadarshan said, “Except for a marriage certificate, we are living the same life together.”

A family source added that their children, actor Kalyani Priyadarshan and Siddharth, played an important role in bringing the couple back together.

“This decision was taken six to eight months ago. The couple won’t remarry. To them, marriage is just a certificate; friendship, companionship, and love are more important,” the insider noted.

The source also mentioned that actor Mammootty visited Lissy’s studio, Le Magic Lantern, in Chennai recently to record a voiceover for director Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming film Patriot and shared his happiness over their reunion.

Priyadarshan and Lissy were married in 1990 and filed for divorce in 2014, which was finalized in 2016. Lissy described the divorce as tumultuous, saying, “It was often a fierce and uncivilised battle on and off the courts until a compromise was reached at the Madras High Court. Perhaps the ugliness of our divorce proceedings says all about the kind of marriage we had. Anyway, I feel relieved now.”

Priyadarshan also stated that ego had contributed to their separation.
