Poonam Pandey breaks silence on pregnancy post
Poonam Pandey’s ‘baby bump’ pictures turned out to be an April Fool’s prank
When Poonam Pandey shared her recent picture on Instagram with a baby bump, it instantly grabbed attention.
However, keeping the 35-year-old actress’s past record in view, the post instead of getting congratulatory messages sent a wave of scepticism, and with her new video clarification it proved what netizens were thinking was right.
The Nasha performer recently wore a white T-shirt and shared her picture happily flaunting her belly, which looked like a baby bump. In the caption, she used emojis of a pregnant woman, a baby feeder bottle and a little baby.
But almost everyone was not convinced that she was expecting, and with her recent video statement, she cleared the air too.
On April 1, the actor took to Instagram and explained the real story behind the viral pregnancy pictures. She admitted that it was part of a planned April Fool’s Day prank.
She addressed the reaction, saying, “Guys, thank you so much for your lovely wishes. But I’m not pregnant. Guys, today is April Fool’s Day.”
“It was a prank. There’s a war going on. The whole world is in stress. I thought I’d entertain you guys a little. I’m the Poonam Pandey. It’s my right to shock you. Don’t take life so seriously. Just chill. Right? April Fool’s Day I’m so angry.”
Pandey has previously drawn controversy over publicity stunts.
In February 2024, a post on her official Instagram account claimed she had died from cervical cancer.
A day later, she revealed the claim was staged as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the disease, prompting widespread criticism.
On the work front, she was most recently seen on the reality show Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel!, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, where Munawar Faruqui won the competition.
