One of the most famous serial killers of US, Ted Bunday, has been linked to a murder dating back to 1974.

The development has been made long after Ted was executed in 1989.

The convicted murder was posthumously linked to a decades-old murder case after new DNA testing confirmed his involvement.

Authorities said advanced forensic analysis identified Ted’s DNA in the killing of 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime, who disappeared in 1974 after leaving a Halloween party.

Utah County Sheriff’s Office said “The results were magnificent as they confirmed irrefutably that DNA evidence recovered from Laura's body verified the existence of DNA belonging to Bundy.”

Aimee’s body was discovered more than a month after she went missing on October 31, 1974.

The convicted felon, whose real name was Theodore Robert Bundy, was linked to a series of murders and assault cases from 1974 to 1978.

The breakthrough came after investigators revisited the case and submitted existing evidence for modern testing.

The modern tests finally proved the link providing long-awaited answers more than 50 years later.
