Ranbir Kapoor’s 'Ramayana' teaser draws celebrities' praise
'Ramayana' teaser impresses the film industry, Ranbir Kapoor’s look as Lord Rama gets attention
As the makers of the upcoming film Ramayana dropped its teaser, several celebrities have reacted to it, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama.
The teaser came out on Thursday on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
Filmmaker Karan Johar shared his thoughts on Instagram and said he is excited to watch the film. "Ranbir Kapoor embodies Lord Rama with divine reverence and piousness...his last turn on hearing his name was the pice de rsistance of this spectacular first look," he said.
Director Siddharth Anand also reacted strongly. "SPECTACULAR! Ranbir has nailed it as Lord Rama for me. I cannot wait to celebrate Diwali this year with #Ramayana on the biggest screen! Nitesh sir, your craft is just awe-inspiring. Namit, you have done what you promised."
Actress Rakul Preet Singh reacted, “Every generation has grown up with his name. Now the world will witness his legend. Maryada Purushottam Lord Rama. @iamnamitmalhotra Ramayana. Our Truth. Our History. Directed by @niteshtiwari22 In cinemas globally. Diwali 2026 & 2027."
The teaser, which is around two and a half minutes long, shows Ranbir in different looks, as a king, a son, a warrior, and a man who stands for what is right.
It presents Lord Rama as a protector and a hero, saying, "Whenever the world descends into chaos, he is always the answer. Ruling our hearts for over 5,000 years - our protector, our hero, the legend."
Director Nitesh Tiwari said the film is about "choices, consequences, and the weight of doing what is right."
Ranbir also spoke about his role, saying, "I don't think I am here to represent Rama. I am here to learn from him. There is a simplicity and purity to him that is very rare, and trying to understand and imbibe that has been a deeply humbling experience."
The film is produced by Namit Malhotra and also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash. It is expected to release during Diwali this year.
