Artemiss II is officially away from earth to explore the lunar area and orbit around our moon in a historic mission.

This mission of NASA has been launched after more than 50 years ago of Apollo 17, which was the final crewed mission to moon.

NASA successfully launched the crew on a landmark journey after weeks of delays on April 1.

The mission, carrying astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen, lifted off from Kennedy Space Center.

Before taking off, Reid told the reporters “I think the nation and the world has been waiting a long time to do this again.”

Explaining the mission, he said “When we get off the planet, we might come right back home. We might spend three or four days around Earth. We might go to the moon.”

After resolving technical issues, the nine-day flight marks a major step in returning humans to deep space exploration.

The mission is a part of US and China’s lunar race as China hopes to land on moon by 2030
