One Direction members are still grieving the loss of their friend and brother Liam Payne.

Even though, they do not post anything about Liam online, but his tragic passing is a very sensitive topic for them to discuss at any interview.

Niall Horan recently appeared for chat at RTE’s The Tommy Tiernan Show, where he was respectfully asked about his former bandmates death and was given full space to express his grief.

It is pertinent to mention that Payne attended Horan’s gig in Buenos Aires two weeks before his demise. This means that the Irish singer was the only One Direction member who met him days before his horrendous passing.

The Slow Hands singer began by saying, “Shocked was definitely the first thing” that hit him when he heard the news.

He recalled how Liam came to his hotel room on the day of his Argentina gig, had a coffee and chat and later attended his show at night.

The 32-year-old singer shared when he went home after completing the tour, “I was home don’t know what day of the week it was, can’t remember… and just looked down at my phone and got a text. It was just pure shock.”

Niall confessed that he knew Liam was dealing with a couple of issues, but he wasn’t aware of the depth.

“I knew he had couple of issues, but I wasn’t around him like I was in previous years all the time”, added the musician.

Horan, with a broken heart, continued, “I grew up with this fella and all of a sudden, he’s no more. It’s just a very strange thing.”

The Teardrops singer passed away on October 16, 2024.
