Niall Horan has reflected on how Liam Payne’s death was a personal loss and the media was making it worse.

The Irish singer sat down for a chat at The Tommy Tiernan Show, where he spoke his heart out while recalling the moment he found about his pal’s death.

During the chat, the host asked him if there was part of the coverage that he found distasteful and hard to deal with?

According to Horan, the media coverage and fan judgement at the time of Liam’s death was making him intrusive and uncomfortable.

He added, “I have to say, after I made the mistake of turning it on the first time, because when I first turned it on it was a shock.”

“The fans, you know, on the TV, people that had worked with us doing interviews. It was all of that stuff. And then, like, I just remember going, no, I'm not doing that.”

The Dinner Party singer made a conscious decision to shut out the media noise as he had a funeral of very dear person to attend.

Niall shared that he thought, “I can't be worrying about what they're going to say next, because I have my own grief to deal with. Like, how am I going to deal with this? The phase is off.”

Horan was the only One Direction member who met Payne two weeks before latter’s tragic demise in Buenos Aires.
