The ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ star shares emotional insight into cancer diagnosis
Olivia Munn has urged fans to undergo early breast cancer screenings after opening up about her own journey as a survivor.
In a conversation with PEOPLE while promoting season two of Apple TV+’s Your Friends & Neighbors, the 45-year-old actress reflected on her co-star Amanda Peet’s breast cancer diagnosis and how she learned about it.
"She told me last year that she was diagnosed, and I was so relieved she found it at such an early, early stage," Munn said.
She added, "She found it at almost the earliest you can find it. She really was given a gift of finding it so early that she doesn't have to do all the treatment and all the stuff you have to do for years and years to come."
The Buddy Games actress highlighted the important message in Peet’s experience.
"She's incredibly lucky, and it's another reminder that early detection saves lives,” she remarked.
When did Amanda Peet reveal her cancer diagnosis?
The Something’s Gotta Give actress revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in an essay published in The New Yorker on March 21, 2026.
She was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in the fall of 2025 after a routine scan.
The diagnosis came while both of Peet’s parents were receiving hospice care on opposite coasts.
