Actor Rajpal Yadav has broken his silence after a moment from the Screen Awards turned into a social media debate, resulting in backlash against journalist and host Saurabh Dwivedi.

The controversy began after the 55-year-old actor attended the event on April 5, where Dwivedi jokingly commented on the actor’s cheque bounce case during a live interaction.

The moment drew laughter from the audience present at the venue, but led to criticism towards the host after its clip went viral online.

Meanwhile, the Mujhse Shaadi Karogi actor took to social media and revealed that the controversial segment during the award show was planned by him, Zakir, and Saurabh.

Speaking in the video, he went on to call them his “younger brothers." He said that they have always respected him, adding that Saurabh even asked everyone in the auditorium to stand up and applaud him.

The  Kushti lead further requested everyone on social media not to troll Saurabh or anyone. He can be heard saying, “Saurabh ka dil dukhana matlab mera dil dukhana hai."

He concluded the video by saying, “I love Saurabh, I love Zakir, I love you all. I am here because of you guys. Thank you."

Both the hosts, Zakir and Saurabh, also reacted to his video through the comment section.

The former  Lallan Top host wrote, "भाई आपके लिए खूब सम्मान और स्नेह (Brother, I have great respect and affection for you)."

While the stand-up comedian commented, "Khoob saara prem aapko @rajpalofficial bhai."
