Ray Stevens is recovering after a recent fall left him with a broken neck, though his upcoming album release remains unaffected.
According to a press release PEOPLE obtained, the two-time Grammy winner sustained the injury on March 29 and was briefly hospitalised in the Nashville area before returning home to continue his recovery.
Doctors have advised the 87-year-old singer to wear a neck brace for approximately four weeks. Despite the setback, the release noted that he is “fully mobile and in good spirits” as he recuperates.
Stevens’ forthcoming album Favorites Old & New, set for release on April 10 via Curb Records, will arrive as scheduled. The 13-track project blends classic standards with newer material from a range of songwriters.
The album includes timeless favourites such as The Look of Love, It Had To Be You, and Come Rain or Come Shine, alongside newer tracks including I Guess You’ve Never Been in Love With the Moon and Time Machine.
Reflecting on the project, Stevens said, “I had a lot of fun creating this album… I just hope Ray Stevens fans enjoy it as much as Ray Stevens!”
