Actress Zareen Khan's mother Parveen Khan died on Wednesday in Mumbai after fighting a prolonged illness.

The family issued a short official statement confirming the news. The funeral will take place today April 8 at 10 am in Versova Mumbai.

The statement read, "This is to inform that our beloved Ms Parveen Khan, mother of Zareen Khan and Sana Khan, has departed peacefully to her heavenly abode on the 8th of April (sic)."

Family deals with the essence of privacy during the tender periods. Sana Khan Zareen’s sister is losing her mother at the same time.

Zareen Khan shared frequent updates about her mother's health through her Instagram account. She posted her update on February with the message "Mom's hospitalised again... Please keep her in your prayers!"

She has been subtly asking her fans and well-wishers to pray for the fast recovery of her mother.

Zareen lost her pet cat Rambo one day before her mother passed away. She posted an Instagram Story which showed her pet while she captioned it My Baby left me this morning to unite with his siblings. Rest in Peace mera Bachcha, mera Rambo 18 07 2011 07 04 2026.
