Aneet Padda plays dual role in Maddock’s 'Shakti Shalini': Details inside
Last year, Aneet was confirmed as the lead in Shakti Shalini
Bollywood actress Aneet Padda surprised fans with a double role in the upcoming Maddock horror comedy, Shakti Shalini, playing both a protector and an evil force.
According to a Mid-Day report, director Aditya Sarpotdar created two distinct roles for Aneet.
The character Shakti acts as the protector, while Shalini represents the evil spirit. “Rooted in Bengali folklore, the film shows the battle between good and evil. A vengeful female ghost haunts trees and water bodies after being betrayed and killed brutally. Shakti confronts the spirit with the power of Goddess Kali, symbolising ultimate strength,” a source told the portal.
Last year, Aneet was confirmed as the lead in Shakti Shalini. Her character first appeared in the post-credits scene of the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Thamma, released in theatres on October 21, 2025.
The film was originally scheduled for release on December 24, 2026.
Aneet Padda rose to fame with Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara. In the film, she played Vaani, a shy journalist and poet, who falls in love with musician Krish Kapur, played by Ahaan Panday. The film explored their love story, struggles, and eventual happy ending despite Vaani’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
