The actor expressed his passion for romcoms

British actor Rege-Jean Page has opened up about his passion for romantic-comedies, also known in pop culture as romcoms.

The actor, who stars in You, Me & Tuscany, admitted he is passionate about the genre of films that explore romance.

Speaking with People about the genre, he said “I mean, who doesn't want to swoon? It's kind of a facetious answer, but also the real answer is: who isn't interested in love?”

The 38-year-old said “If there is a universal language, is that if it's from cavemen to now, if there's one thing that can bring everyone together, it's that every single person in this room is in some way interested in love and loving and being loved.”

The Bridgerton star, who starred as Duke Simon Basset in the romantic period drama, said the absence of romcoms will be felt far beyond screens.

The actor said “What happens when you don't have those stories in cinemas is that you don't have them in culture.”

Romcoms has been a huge part of pop culture but in recent years fewer of such romantic movies have come out.
