The late night show mocked the President on his show
American TV show host Jimmy Kimmel did not mince his words while speaking about US President Donald Trump’s recent post amid the US-Iran conflict.
The 58-year-old has been a vocal critic of the president as he used his monologue on Tuesday night to criticise Trump’s recent post that sparked outrage.
In his post on April 7, Trump threatened “whole civilisation will die tonight” amid the ongoing US-Iran tensions.
Jimmy began his monologue saying “Probably the most dangerous episode of The Celebrity President yet today: It was D-day. In this case, the 'd' stands for 'dementia', but it was D-Day today.”
He continued “We're coming to you from Los Angeles where the local time's just after 5pm, which was Trump's deadline for Iran to quote, 'Open the effing strait or you'll be living in hell.'”
Thee show host also mentioned Trump’s disappointment when he did not win the Nobel Peace Prize saying “Realise this is the same man that was just bitching about losing the Nobel Peace Prize. Now he's threatening a civilisation with death. He went from Mahatma Gandhi to General Zod like that.”
The two countries have agreed to impose a ceasefire for two weeks and allow shipping traffic to go through the Strait of Hormuz.
