British-Pakistan actor Riz Ahmed is not shy about his struggles and where he came from.

The actor, who is enjoying the success of his show BAIT, is now starring in another anticipated project.

However, the actor admitted he has always felt like an “outsider”.

The 43-year-old is playing the titular tole in new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet and he believes he has more in common with the Danish prince.

Recalling the first time he played Hamlet in school, he told People “I had a really inspirational English teacher who gave it to me.”

“And actually, I found a character, the heart of this play, that just feels as much of an outsider as I did at that time.” he added.

Riz, whose real name is Rizwan Ahmed, is a descendant of Pakistani parents who immigrated to UK in 1970s.

He quipped “And as much of an outsider as I think many of us feel right now, right? I think the central question of the play is, ‘Am I losing my mind or has the world gone crazy?’ And I think we are feeling that way.”

The Oscar winner stars in Hamlet alongside Morfydd Clark, Joe Alwyn, Sheeba Chaddha, Avijit Dutt, Art Malik, Timothy Spall and more.
