Ketamine Queen gets 15 years sentence in Matthew Perry death case

A California woman dubbed the “Ketamine Queen” has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for her role in the death of Matthew Perry.

On Wednesday, April 8, Ketamine, real name Jasveen Sangha, received the sentence after previously pleading guilty to multiple drug-related charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death, according to federal prosecutors.

Authorities said Sangha supplied ketamine through an intermediary chain that ultimately reached the Friends star. Prosecutors alleged she distributed the drug to Erik Fleming, who then passed it to Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.

In October 2023, the network allegedly sold 51 vials of ketamine intended for the actor. Court filings state that on October 28, 2023, Iwamasa administered at least three injections of the drug, leading to Perry’s death at the age of 54.

Prosecutors further claimed Sangha attempted to distance herself after learning of the incident, alleging she instructed Fleming to “Delete all our messages” and altered app settings to remove conversations.

In a sentencing memorandum, prosecutors argued Sangha continued dealing drugs even after realising the fatal consequences, writing, “She didn’t care and kept selling.” They described her actions as showing “a disregard for life,” adding she “chose profits over people.”

The sentence aligns with the prosecution’s recommendation, marking a significant development in the high-profile case.
