Stephen Colbert has a secret cameo in The Testaments, which lets him enjoy his “free speech.”

On Wednesday, April 8, the new Handmaid's Tale sequel series premiered its first three episodes on Hulu, featuring a sneaky role of The Late Show host.

Colbert lends his voice to Radio Free Boston, the station Daisy (Lucy Halliday) secretly tunes into from Gilead, using it to stay connected with Mayday while operating within the regime.

Hulu’s series showrunner, Bruce Miller, revealed to TV Insider that Colbert "gave us a few minutes of [his] time and their voice to be the voice of ‘Radio Free Boston.' "

“He was lovely to do it for us, and we very much appreciate it,” Miller said, adding, Colbert is a "good person to be the voice of free speech in America."

Serving as a sequel, The Testaments picks up 15 years after the finale of The Handmaid’s Tale, which aired in May. Based on Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel.

The series follows teenagers Agnes (Chase Infiniti) and Daisy as they attend an elite prep school led by Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd), where they are groomed to become submissive wives to Gilead’s ruling men.
