A recently viral video showing Smriti Mandhana’s father meeting the family of Palash Muchhal has stirred a big wave online, and left many wondering if an old chapter is quietly reopening.

In the clip, the 30-year-old musician’s sister, Palak Muchhal, is seen greeting Mandhana’s father by touching his feet, while her husband, Mithoon, stands nearby.

There is no clear context, no explanation, just a short exchange, but it has been enough to get people talking.

“I am surprised …but not shocked…hua so hua …let it go,” one user wrote, while others simply asked, “What’s happening?” Some believe the video could even be old, though that remains unclear.

Neither family has said anything so far.

The curiosity comes months after the 29-year-old cricketer herself confirmed that her wedding to music composer, once planned for November 2025, had been called off.

“I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same,” she had said, asking for privacy.

What followed then was messier. The vice-captain of the Indian women's friend Vidnyan Mane made serious claims, alleging Palash was “caught red-handed with another woman in bed.” He described it as a “bhayanak scene”.

Palash, however, pushed back strongly, calling the claims “entirely baseless and factually incorrect” and saying legal action is being explored.

In an Instagram post, he had said, “I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”
