Kerry Condon set to tke on new role for Netflix
Kerry Condon is set to take on a key role in Netflix’s upcoming drama series The God of the Woods.
The series pairs the 43-year-old Irish actress with the Stranger Things alum Maya Hawke in the series adaptation of Liz Moore’s 2024 novel of the same name.
“The God of the Woods” is “a multi-generational drama series set in the Adirondacks, exploring the Van Laar family’s dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of 13 year old Barbara Van Laar from her family’s summer camp; in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars’ wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power,” the logline reads.
In the upcoming series, the F1 actress will take on the role of Alice Van Laar, Barbara’s mother, described as “hardened by the grief of a past family tragedy and trapped in a contemptuous marriage.”
Maya, 27, will star as Judy Luptack, a “smart and quietly determined” investigator who takes on Barbara’s case as the Bureau’s first female investigator.
