Anil Kapoor's X post on April 9 caught everyone’s attention, in which he appeared to give an ultimatum to an OTT platform.

In the post He wrote, “JioHotstar, you have 24 hours, or else I will take matters into my own hands.”

His words shocked everyone, but soon they realised this “ultimatum” was about a show on the streaming platform, and later, those speculations proved right.

The 69-year-old actor’s action thriller show 24 is coming back on streaming, with both its seasons set to release on JioHotstar.

The Nayak actor, who played ATU Chief Jai Singh Rathod, will again be seen leading the show as it returns online.

The series will start streaming from April 24. The release will not be all at once, as eight episodes will drop every Friday on screens.

24 was first shown on Colors TV, with its first season airing from October to December 2013. The second season came later, between July and October 2016. It remains one of Anil Kapoor’s major TV projects.

Sharing a teaser video, he called 24 “the ultimate action show” and said its return is a big moment for the spy thriller genre. He also confirmed it will stream only on JioHotstar.

He also said the show still means a lot to him and he is happy it is coming back for viewers.

The announcement has also started talks about a possible Season 3. Earlier, Anil had replied to a fan saying, “Coming with 24 soon,” which got people interested. But there is still no official confirmation.

The show was directed by Abhinay Deo and Rensil D’Silva, and also starred Neil Bhoopalam, Raaghav Chanana, Anita Raj, and Sapna Pabbi.

It followed anti-terror operations in a real-time format, which made it different from usual TV dramas.
