Sam Thompson was recently asked an unexpected question live on a show.

The TV personality dated Zara McDermott for five years before calling it off in December 2024.

After splitting with Sam, Zara started dating former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, and they are seemingly happy and serious in their relationship.

Recently, Thompson sat down for a chat on HitsRadioUK, where he was thrown a very unexpected and surprising question by a fan.

“How do you feel about the song from One Direction, Steal My Girl, knowing that actually one of the 1D boys did actually steal your girl?”

Sam went all shocked and speechless as he did not expect the interview to go in this direction.

However, he carefully handled the situation and gave a very decent response saying, “First of all, I mean this I wanna say it’s a brilliant song. I still listen to it on the Tube. I know that sounds weird, but I do. I listen to it on the YouTube all the time.”

While commenting on Louis and Zara’s relationship, Sam added, “I don’t actually feel weird about it because I feel quite happy as long as everyone else is happy. I think everyone’s found their person, and I think that’s really really nice.”

The 33-year-old further said, without taking the Lemonade singer’s name, that he has met the “guy” and found him to be really nice.

He concluded the response by calling song Steal My Girl “an absolute banger.”
