Nawazuddin Siddiqui garners appreciation ahead of ‘Main Actor Nahin Hoon’ release
Nawazuddin Siddiqui's 'professionalism' makes headlines on internet
Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently received appreciation from his upcoming film Main Actor Nahin Hoon director Aditya Kripalani.
The 51-year-old actor, known for his acclaimed performances in multiple projects of the industry, sparked online buzz following Kripalani’s confession about their fee commitments.
In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, Kripalani, 44, shared, “Him not charging a fee is a big thing, really big. In India, there is always that pressure of ‘how much are you earning?’ When someone like Nawaz doesn’t charge money, you can actually turn around and say. ‘This is my earning.’ It’s one of the high points of my career.”
Later in the conversation, the Devi Aur Hero filmmaker spoke at length about the Raat Akeli Hai star’s professionalism.
Speaking to the outlet, he said, “He was an absolute professional. He even bought his own ticket to reach Frankfurt, all by himself. He didn’t come with his manager.”
It is pertinent to mention that Manto’s director Nandita Das previously revealed that Siddiqui requested to be a part of the project without demanding remuneration.
Meanwhile, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor earned widespread recognition for his portrayal as Saadat Hasan Manto in the 2018 film.
Kripalani’s directorial Main Actor Nahin Hoon, also starring Chitrangada Satarupa, is all set for its Indian theatrical release on Friday, May 8.
