Denise Jonas speaking ability affected due to 'stroke'
Jonas brothers mum Denise has opened about learning an important lesson after suffering a stroke.
The 59-year-old suffered a stroke that sometimes affects her ability to speak as a group of brain structures that control the cognitive functions were impacted by it.
Denise is set to appear in the upcoming episode Jennifer Vickery Smith's Got It From My Momma podcast. The episode’s preview showed her speaking candidly about her health condition.
Even though, it was a hard time, but Denise still thought it was the best thing happened to her.
She confessed, "Although I had this health scare, I always say it was probably the best thing that happened to me. I feel like it was a gift … from the Lord.”
Joe, Nick, Kevin and Franklin’s mother stated that the health scare taught her to slow down, “it caused me to really be still.”
She further added, "[Doing things with my family is] the challenge now, too. I don’t do things, really. It’s harder now to be in the moment and spontaneous ... Thankfully, I know my body, and I understand what things I should and shouldn’t do.
Denise admitted that she has now learnt to say “no” because before that she never really knew how to say it.
