Ranveer Allahbadia reacts to Samay Raina’s comedy dig
Ranveer Allahbadia responds without naming Samay Raina amid ongoing controversy
After months of backlash and even legal trouble linked to India’s Got Latent, comedian Samay Raina is back doing what he does, stand-up, but this time with sharper edges.
He recently released his stand-up special Still Alive, where he talked about the aftermath of the India’s Got Latent episode and the controversy around it, with Ranveer Allahbadia featuring heavily in his set.
In his new special Still Alive, the 28-year-old comedian didn’t hold back. He spoke openly about the controversy that once dominated headlines, and took repeated digs at the YouTuber, whose remarks during the show had triggered one of the biggest online uproars last year, affecting both their careers.
On stage, Samay said, “Mera poora mental health kharab kardi usne…” and called the Bear Bicep founder “the monk who sold my Ferrari.” The tone was comic, but the context still felt heavy.
He also explained why the controversial part was never cut. “Main tumhe maa ki kasam sach batata hoon… Beer Biceps ne voh sawal 8 baar poocha tha… aur aur bhi kayi ant shant sawal pooche the usne.”
However, despite facing direct criticism from him, the 32-year-old podcaster seems to be taking a different route.
In a paparazzi clip, Ranveer looked relaxed, smiling through questions. “Hum dono ka Samay chal raha hai…,” he said, before adding, “Samay… kaun Samay? Kya Samay? Humara time. It’s our time, my time is now.”
In another moment, he responded more subtly: “Tareefein toh sunai de rahi hain… jitni zyada positivity aap andar rakhoge… Smile karte rehna chahiye.”
Even Samay admitted things may have gone too far at one point. Still, he has confirmed that India’s Got Latent is returning with a second season.
