Olivia Munn has shared rare insight into her perfect day with husband John Mulaney and their two children.

During a recent conversation with PEOPLE at the press junket for Your Friends & Neighbors, the 45-year-old actress said her day-to-day family life is rooted in simple moments that capture the true essence of happiness.

"John and I and our two kids hung out at the house all day, and hung in the yard, and went to the beach, and we just did every single thing together," Munn said.

She added, "And you can see how much our children need to just be our little family together, and have both parents there at the same time, and going through the mess together, and making all of the meals and everything that you have to do in a day. We just all do it, just the immediate family."

The Predator actress explained that her favourite moments are when they’re "just hanging out and having fun," particularly when they’re outdoors with their children.

"And we've got a sprinkler the other day, it's been so hot, and it was like an old school sprinkler from when we were kids, and we just put it on the grass, and that was like two hours of playtime outside," she noted. "It's just the simplest things that we do with our kids that make it the best day."
