Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is gearing up for his next television move, hinting at a new project that could expand his long-standing presence on food TV.

The announcement comes as the longtime Food Network figure continues to build on a career defined by competitive cooking shows and restaurant ventures.

Flay revealed he is set to begin filming a new series for Food Network, describing it as a flagship-style project still under wraps.

Speaking on the April 13 episode of his podcast Bobby on the Beat, he told guest Heather Graham, “I am starting a new series for Food Network.”

“I can't really tell you what it is, but it's going to be, I think, the quintessential Food Network show,” he added. “It's going to be obviously about cooking. It's going to have some sort of professional cooking environment in it, for sure. I think it's going to answer a lot of questions of how do you do your job, so to speak, when it comes to chefs and cooks in the restaurant business.”

The 61-year-old chef also shared that the project has been in development for several years and will soon move into production. “This is something I've been working on for, I don't know, two and a half, three years,” he explained, adding that filming will take up most of his April.

Flay currently fronts several Food Network titles, including Beat Bobby Flay, Bobby’s Triple Threat and BBQ Brawl.
