In a move to honour two of India’s most celebrated voices, Hridaynath Mangeshkar announced plans to build what could become Asia’s largest hospital in memory of his sisters, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

The plan was shared during a recent interaction, where he spoke about the idea behind the project. He said the hospital was first planned as a tribute to Lata Mangeshkar. Later, the decision was changed to include Asha Bhosle’s name as well.

He said, “We are trying that this should be the biggest hospital in Asia. We have taken quite a big land, rest it up to God.”

According to the details shared, a large piece of land had already been arranged for the project. The hospital was expected to carry a name that reflects both sisters. Two names were being considered, including “Lata-Asha Institute of Medical Sciences” and “Lata-Asha Mangeshkar Ayurvidhya Sansthan.”

Along with the hospital, the family had also planned to build a museum. The museum was expected to highlight the musical journey of the Mangeshkar family. It was said that visitors would also get a chance to learn music through interactive activities.

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle had passed away in Mumbai at the age of 92. Reports stated that she had been admitted to hospital a day earlier due to health issues. She had passed away on April 12.

Her last rites were held the following day, where several members of the film and music industry had gathered to pay their respects. Fans and well-wishers had also visited her residence for a final farewell.
