Taylor Swift secures eight nominations to lead 2026 American Music Awards
Taylor Swift has gotten a lead for the 2026 American Music Awards, securing eight nominations as this year’s ballot was unveiled.
The latest tally reinforces Swift’s long-standing dominance at the AMAs, where she already holds the record for the most wins in the show’s history.
The singer is nominated for artist of the year and favourite female pop artist, while her album The Life of a Showgirl is in contention for album of the year and favourite pop album. Her track The Fate of Ophelia has landed nominations for song of the year, favourite pop song, and favourite music video.
She is also in the running for song of the summer with Elizabeth Taylor, recently released as a single.
Four artists, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Sombr and Morgan Wallen, follow closely with seven nominations each, while Lady Gaga and Alex Warren have six apiece.
Elsewhere, Ella Langley, Fuerza Regida, Leon Thomas, and Zara Larsson earned five nominations each, with Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Playboi Carti, Bruno Mars, Tate McRae, and Tyla securing four.
With 40 career AMA wins to date, Swift now heads into the 2026 ceremony with another chance to extend her record-breaking lead.
