Grief sometimes quietly pulls people closer, and that seems to be the case for Bobby Deol and his half-sisters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, after the death of their father, Dharmendra.

The veteran actor died at 89 last year, leaving behind not just a legacy of films but also a family now learning to deal with his absence.

Speaking in a recent interview, Bobby admitted that loss has changed things. Old distances, he suggests, are softening.

The 57-year-old expressed his thoughts as, “I feel we’re all dealing with it in our own ways. Sometimes you misunderstand each other because you’re hurting."

"Everyone feels their pain is more than the other’s. But you give it time. Let it heal. Loss has its own way of bringing a family closer,” he said.

The actor, known for his recent work in The Ba**ds of the Bollywood, also spoke about regret.

Highlighting his regret, the Animal actor said, “There are all these days where I wish I had sat with him more. I wish I had asked him more questions.”

He now often watches his father’s old Instagram videos.

"You know, I keep watching his reels on Instagram. He was so candid, so full of warmth. Sometimes it feels like he’s talking directly to me.”

The Badal star further revealed that Dharmendra’s death has inspired him to spend more time with his loved ones.

Beyond films and fame, Bobby says his priorities have shifted. Time with family matters more now. Success, he adds, feels empty without people to share it with.
