Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’ gets mixed overseas reactions on social media
The overall response continued to circulate on social media as audiences shared different opinions about the film’s tone and execution
Bhooth Bangla opened to mixed reactions from overseas audiences as early reviews and social media posts about the film went viral online.
Directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar, the film was the actor's comeback in the horror-comedy genre and reunited the duo after a long gap. Furthermore, there was an ensemble cast of renowned actors and actresses featured in the film.
According to posts circulating on social media, some viewers described the film as an “outdated comedy-drama.” One user wrote, “A old product in new packet! totally outdated comedy-drama movie without any funny & laughable moment.”
Another widely shared comment came from a self-proclaimed critic based in London, who stated, “This movie is a major letdown from the accomplished director. It's not a full-blown comedy. It's not a full-scale satire either. Hugely disappointing!”
Another interesting aspect of the movie was the last big screen performance of veteran actor Asrani. In response to the same, Akshay posted a tribute saying, "Kabhi Kabhi Ek Tasveer Sirf Yaadon Ka Tukda Nahi Hoti… Ek Poori Journey Ko Samet Leti Hai."
The Hera Pheri actor further added that comedy looked easy on screen, but it was actually a difficult art. He said Asrani had mastered that craft and would always be remembered for it.
The overall response continued to circulate on social media as audiences shared different opinions about the film’s tone and execution.
