Police in Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing say three more people have been arrested in connection with the leak of the film Jana Nayagan

The arrests were made on April 15 after what officials described as a detailed technical investigation.

According to investigators, the main accused was working as a freelance assistant editor on another project.

They allegedly got unauthorised access to the film’s footage at an editing studio.

Police believe the person copied reels, turned them into a full version, and shared it further.

From there, the film spread quickly across piracy networks.

The case had already seen six arrests earlier this month, linked to uploading and sharing pirated material.

The three newly held accused have been produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.

The leak had appeared days before the film was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification.

Soon after, the Madras High Court stepped in with an interim order, asking internet providers and cable operators not to stream or broadcast any unauthorised versions.

Jana Nayagan, seen as Vijay’s final film before his political move, was hit hard when HD clips began circulating on April 9. The full film later surfaced on multiple illegal sites.

Authorities say hundreds of links have now been taken down. They have also warned that accessing or sharing pirated content could attract legal action.
