I need to say this first because I have a weakness for watching the humorous movies which Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan created throughout their career.

The night before Bhooth Bangla premiered I decided to rewatch their cult classic Bhagam Bhaag (2006) which showed their ability to create comedy without effort.

The news about their upcoming horror comedy project which follows Bhool Bhulaiyaa made me happy because I wanted to see them work together again. The reunion brings us a celebration which carries an atmosphere of happy yet sad feelings.

The Bhooth Bangla story follows London resident Arjun along with his sister Mithila. She suddenly inherits a fortune and a palace, courtesy of their grandfather. Arjun travels to Mangalpur, India, to set up the palace for his sister's upcoming wedding.

But the lore goes that nobody in the village gets married, as Vadhusur comes and steals the brides. The story continues from that point forward to present its complete narrative.

The film can be expressed as a mathematical equation which uses the following formula Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 plus Shaitaan plus Stree is equal to Bhooth Bangla.

Aakash Kaushik who wrote this work serves as the writer while he also created the stories for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3.

The story shows variations that we have already observed in previous times, which depends on your ability to laugh and your response to fear. The first half of Bhooth Bangla delivers maximum nostalgia through its content.

The film includes all the typical Priyadarshan camera angles. The film uses identical locations which include the Chomu Palace that appear in Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The cinematography work of Divakar Mani shows the beauty of the rustic locations.

The film benefits from excellent VFX which I am pleased to announce because it enhances the overall movie experience.

The strengths of the work exist together with its equal shortcomings. Priyadarshan develops his vast cinematic universe so much that his characters become lost throughout the story until they eventually return. The director needs to understand the starting point for his movie's ending.
