Zayn Malik explains connection with Pakistani roots after 'KONNAKOL' release
Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson's road-trip documentary cancels
Zayn Malik has opened up about his connection with the Pakistani roots and why he thought it was important to link them with new album.
His fifth album "KONNAKOL" came out yesterday on April 17 and is being loved by his fans globally.
In an interview, Malik revealed that while he was making the new record, he thought of making it distinguished from other musicians’ work.
The Die For Me singer said that as he is half Pakistani, he felt it cool to represent his culture and educate people.
“It’s my culture and you know, literally I’m half Pakistani originally, all comes from there and it is a f****** cool thing to be able to represent that, educate people.”
According to Zayn, people belonging to his culture live in so much fear of things they are unable to understand, therefore, he tried to help them know about their culture through KONNAKOL.
“I feel like so many people live in fear of things they don’t understand, if I can help explain our culture and explain where we come from, that feels like a good thing”, the 33-year-old said.
Apart from work, Malik is currently making headlines for allegedly having a physical altercation with former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson.
Reports claimed that the clash has resulted in cancellation of their Netflix road-trip documentary.
