After gaining attention for her standout performance in Sinners, Li Jun Li has officially joined the Season 3 cast of The Last of Us, as per Deadline.

She is set to play Mirium, a Seraphite and the mother of Lev and Yara, while Michell Mao and Kyriana Kratter take on the roles of Yara and Lev in the upcoming third season.

Set 20 years after modern civilization's destruction, The Last of Us follows Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, a battle-worn survivor who is hired to smuggle Ellie, portrayed by Bella Ramsey, a 14-year-old girl, beyond a strict quarantine zone.

However, what starts as a small job soon becomes a violent, heartbreaking trek across the United States, forcing them to rely on each other for survival.

The second season of the fan favourite series takes fans five years ahead after the first season, with Joel and Ellie finding themselves in conflict with each other while navigating an even more dangerous and unpredictable world; Season 3 shifts focus to Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), adapting the second half of the Part II storyline.

The Last of Us was co created by Craig Mazin and game creator Neil Druckmann.

Craig also served as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Neil for Seasons 1 and 2. But now has taken over as the sole showrunner for Season 3.
