Charles Dance is in talks with DC Studios to join the upcoming film, The Batman Part II, with Robert Pattinson.
Warner Bros’ Gotham saga continues to expand following the global success of The Batman, which reintroduced audiences to a darker iteration of the Caped Crusader led by Robert Pattinson.
As anticipation builds for the sequel, new casting developments are beginning to surface around The Batman Part II, directed by Matt Reeves.
As per Deadline, sources indicate that Dance is to join the upcoming film, potentially stepping into the role of Charles Dent, father of Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent.
If finalised, he would star alongside Pattinson, with Sebastian Stan expected to portray Harvey Dent and Scarlett Johansson reportedly cast as Dent’s wife, though the studio has not confirmed the additions.
The project is scheduled to begin production in spring, with DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran producing alongside Dylan Clark.
The sequel is slated for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027, following the first film’s strong box office performance, which earned $772 million worldwide.
Dance, widely recognised for his portrayal of Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, is expected to bring a similarly commanding presence to Gotham, as the franchise continues to build on its post-pandemic theatrical momentum.
