Jessica Chastain unveiled a fresh red carpet look as she stepped out at the Breakthrough Prize in Santa Monica on April 18.

The appearance marked a notable style shift for the Oscar-winning actor, who is widely recognised for her signature long red hair.

Chastain debuted a sleek, chin-length bob at the ceremony, later sharing the transformation on Instagram with a before-and-after clip by longtime hairstylist Renato Campora. 

“Choppity chop,” she captioned the post, confirming the dramatic cut. 

The sharp bob, styled in rich copper-red tones and tucked behind one ear, framed her face with a clean, modern finish.

She paired the hairstyle with a strapless gold gown featuring intricate patterns and fringe detailing, allowing the structured cut to take centre stage. The polished look marked a departure from her usual soft, longer styles, giving her appearance a sharper edge on the red carpet.

While Chastain is known for maintaining consistent styling, she has experimented with shorter cuts in the past, including a shoulder-length trim in 2018 during promotions for Woman Walks Ahead. 

The latest transformation signals another shift in her evolving red carpet presence.
