Jelly Roll gets honest about falling off track after huge transformation
The ‘Save Me’ singer shares raw update on fitness journey after weight gain
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has opened up about his growing fears following his dramatic weight-loss journey.
In a recent YouTube video, the 41-year-old rapper-turned-country star admitted he has been terrified to step on the scale after saying he had “lost” his “way” following his remarkable health transformation.
Roll, who previously lost 275 lbs. (125 kg), opened up about the challenges that followed in a YouTube vlog released on Saturday, April 18.
He revealed that after landing the Men’s Health cover ahead of the holidays, he began to ease up on his strict routine and allowed himself to relax.
“I was like, 'You know what man, I’ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I’m going to enjoy the holidays,'” the Grammy nominee said, noting that he indulged in big meals across Thanksgiving, his birthday, and Christmas.
However, his progress was disrupted after he broke his collarbone late last year, forcing him to pause all physical activity.
“I have, to some degree, lost my way,” Roll acknowledged, explaining that he has been avoiding the scale because he fears the number he sees will be disappointing.
Pushing past his earlier hesitation, the Wild Ones crooner revealed he weighed 276.2 lbs. (125.3 kg) as of April 10, having gained 12 lbs. (5.4 kg).
What are Jelly Roll’s upcoming fitness goals?
Jelly Roll appears fully committed to his fitness, getting back on track as he aims to lose another 40 to 50 lbs. and hopes to run the New York City Marathon.
